DDI Professional programs

Divemaster

Prerequisites:

To participate in the DDI Instructor-Training the individual must:

  • Be certified as a Divemaster or equivalent through an internationally recognized diving training organization, training system is working in accordance to the ISO standards, and in active status.
  • Submit a copy of a medical examination stating that the individual is fit for diving. The examination must have been conducted within the past twelve months.
  • Submit proof of training in First Aid / CPR within the past twenty four months.
  • Fill out and submit the DDI Pro-course application form and comply with the requirements as listed.
  • Undersign and submit a  Safe Diving Practice Agreement and, where applicable, a liability waiver.

Duties:

A certified DDI Divemaster in active teaching status is qualified to:

  • Act as a certified assistant to an DDI Instructor during the Open Water Diver course and the Dive Partner course.
  • Independently conduct the DDI Try Scuba Diving  program to a maximum of 2 m/6 ft.
  • Act as certified Pro member to dive with level 2 and 3 divers. 

 

Assistant Instructor

Prerequisites:

To participate in the DDI Instructor-Training the individual must:

  • Be certified as Assistant Instructor, or equivalent through an internationally recognized diving training organization, training system is working in accordance to the ISO standards, and in active status.
  • Submit a copy of a medical examination stating that the individual is fit for diving. The examination must have been conducted within the past twelve months.
  • Submit proof of training in First Aid / CPR within the past twenty four months.
  • Fill out and submit the DDI Pro-course application form and comply with the requirements as listed.
  • Undersign and submit a  Safe Diving Practice Agreement and, where applicable, a liability waiver.

Duties:

A certified DDI Assistant Instructor in active teaching status is qualified to:

  • Act as a certified assistant to an DDI Instructor during the Open Water Diver course and the Dive Partner course.
  • Independently conduct portions of an Open Water Diver course in accordance with the standards of your primary diving association.
  • Independently conduct the DDI Try Scuba Diving program.
  • Conduct the DDI Surface Assistant Program and issue certification.
  • Act as certified Pro member to dive with level 2 and 3 divers.  

 

Instructor

Prerequisites:

To participate in the DDI Pro-Training an individual must:

  • Be a renewed Instructor member and in active teaching status with an internationally recognised diver training organization, the training system is working in accordance to the ISO standards, and is qualified to train Open Water Divers. Proof of status must be submitted.
  • Submit a copy of a medical examination stating that the individual is fit for diving. The examination must have been conducted within the past twelve months.
  • Submit proof of training in First Aid / CPR within the past twenty four months.
  • Fill out and submit the DDI Instructor-Training application form and comply with the requirements listed.
  • Undersign and submit a  Safe Diving Practice Agreement and, where applicable, a liability waiver.

  • Conduct the DDI Open Water Diver course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Advanced Open Water Diver course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Assistant Dive course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Surface Assisrant and issue certification.
  • Conduct any new non-professional programs developed by the DDI.
  • Act as certified Pro member to dive with level 2 and 3 divers.

 

Staff Instructor

Prerequisites:

To qualify for Staff Instructor an individual must:

  • Be a renewed DDI Instructor.
  • Must have had a direct involvement in 3 NBT’s.
  • Must have trained a minimum of 3 Assistant Diver.
  • Must have assisted an DDI Instructor-trainer during 2 complete DDI Pro Training courses.

or

  • Must have trained a minimum of 3 disabled divers.
  • Must have trained a minimum of 3 Assistant Diver.
  • Must have assisted an DDI Instructor-trainer during 2 complete DDI Pro Training courses.

and

  • Instructor with a minimum of experience, to lean other Instructor to teach from Primary Certification Agency.

  • Submit proof of training in First Aid / CPR within the past twenty four months.

  • A certified DDI Staff- Instructor in active teaching status is qualified to:
  • Conduct the DDI Try-Diving program.
  • Conduct the DDI Pool Diver course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Scuba Diver course and issue certifications.       
  • Conduct the DDI Open Water Diver course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Advanced Open Water Diver course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Assistant Dive  and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Surface Assistant Program and issue certification.
  • Teach academic segments of the Pro Training course, under indirect supervision of a DDI Instructor- Trainer.
  • Supervise candidates during the pool and open water parts of the Pro Training course, under direct supervision of a DDI Instructor- Trainer.
  • Conduct any new non-professional programs developed by the DDI.
  • Act as certified Pro member to dive with level 2 and 3 divers.

Duties:

Note: An DDI Instructor- Trainer must be present at all times.

 

DDI Instructor trainer

Prerequisites:

To participate in the DDI Instructor Trainer course an individual must:

  • Be a renewed DDI Staff-Instructor in active status.
  • Be a First Aid / CPR Instructor.
  • Be certified above entry level Instructor (EUF certification level 2 instructors)
  • Submit a Medical Statement signed by a physician stating that the individual may participate in Scuba Diving activities. The medical examination must have been conducted within the past 12 months.
  • Fill out and submit the DDI Pro-course application form and comply with the requirements listed.
  • Sign and submit a Safe Diving Practice Agreement and, where applicable, a liability waiver.

Duties:

  • A certified DDI Instructor-trainer in active teaching status is qualified to:
  • Conduct the DDI Pro-Training.
  • Conduct the DDI Status Update programs.
  • Conduct the DDI Surface Assiatant course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Assistant Dive  course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Pool Diver Course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Open Water Diver course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Advanced Open Water Diver course and issue certifications.
  • Conduct the DDI Try Scuba Diving  program.
  • Conduct the DDI Surface Assistant Program and issue certification.
  • Conduct any new programs that are developed.
  • Act as certified Pro member to dive with level 2 and 3 divers.
