The participants mainly hailed from WA, with the excpetion of Jacque who came all the way from Canberra in ACT on the east coast of Australia. All candidates have promising plans for promoting diving for the disabled in Australia which we will monitor with interest. The organisation of the DDI instructor course was in conjunction with an initiative to add a disabled lift and full disabled facilities to Busselton’s world-famous jetty which is an awesome dive site in its own right. Thanks to Ebony and Alecia for organising the training and Mark for conducting the course. We hope that it is the beginning of a real opening up of Australia’s world famous scuba diving destinations for all.
