The first ever DDI Instructor Training program to be held in Australia was recently completed in Busselton, Western Australia. DDI Instructor trainer Mark Slingo travelled to conduct the course organised by Ebony Young and Alecia Macdonald of The Dive Shed. Along with Ebony and Alecia, dive instructors Jacque Comery, Ash Payne, Kamila Opon and Troy Mayne completed the pro training and added to the growing number of DDI Instructors in Australia.
Fraser Bathgate, DDI president, was invited by AAATE - Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe for the 12th Conference that took place in the Hotel Tivoli Marina in Vilamoura, Portugal, last September. Fraser presented a revolutionary approach to rehabilitation through Scuba Diving.
DDI Catalonia participated in the event Sport Day at the Guttmann Institute developing a try scuba diving program at the pool of the center. We had patients and very good skills who never trued before and they commented us it was fantastic for them. It was very successful. We would like to thank to Guttmann Institute for this invitation to participate in this interesting sportive day.
H2O Diving in Lund, Sweden, completed a DDI Assistant Diver Course this weekend. The students, Paul, Mikael and Tess, started out in the class room discussing the challenges of their new duties together with their instructor Patrik Jeppsson. The course continued with a long and fun pool session the following evening practising skills which was again used on Saturday when the course was completed with two open water dives.

Anyone from PADI Divemaster (Or equivalent with an Internationally recognised agency) can take part in the
training. On successful completion of the DDI course and after successfully completing your Training Agency
Instructor course, you only need to pay for the upgrade of your certification, not complete another course.
