DDI Meeting In Portugal
Dear Colleague,
When we first started the DDI in Portugal we knew that we were sharing happiness with other people. People that, most of the times, are limited to do some activities, not because they have limitations but becouse our society keeps on suffering of "autism" concerning to some matters. Being different (disabled) is one of them.
DDI Outcome-measurement project
DDI Outcome-measurement project
DDI has from the start been aiming for respect and cooperation by the medical community. Starting officially in January 2012, DDI initiates an international outcome-measurement project collecting systematic data from DDI programs – including Trydives/No Barrier Tours. The project uses anonymous data within the realm of quality management - and includes follow-up data. Participation is voluntary and written consent is mandatory.
The most likely effect even one trydive experience can possibly have is to change the perspective of one owns possibilities. The "Acceptance and Action Questionnaire" (AAQ-II 7 item) will be used and is a validated tool (and available in many languages) for measuring a person’s level of psychological flexibility = the ability to choose according to ones values in spite of dysfunction or other problems.
Head of this project is Anders Orpana, DDI representative of Norway.

Dear scuba friends and enthusiasts,
A new year has started!
Since 2010, when DDI Foundation was established, we ‘learned’ to walk, sometimes even quicker than we can handle. and too quick. However, by collaborating, communicating and cooperating with each other we will get stronger. Let’s make 2012 a wonderful, passionate and inspirational year! The big blue is waiting for us...we only have to touch it once in a while (for some of us that’s daily ;-) to keep feeling these emotions of freedom, happiness and beauty.
...
Thank you for sharing your passion with us! This is the fuel to drive things forward and make it happen.
Keep posting your stories, keep inspiring others with your passion and share the fun. We hope to see you soon, wherever.... DDI Conference 2012 will be held in Portugal (27-29 January near Faro)...let us know if you’re there! Best wishes,
On behalf of DDI,
Daniel
DDI Foundation becomes member of the European Underwater Federation (EUF)
At the General Assembly of the European Underwater Federation (EUF) on Saturday 10 December last, DDI was welcomed as a new associate member. It was a unanimous decision.
Daniel Zuidema, marketing director DDI, was present at this meeting and received the good news.
EUF is a European platform for scuba dive training organisations. Important matters with regard to scuba diving are discussed here. All members recognise that it is important to collaborate on safety, promotion and quality of the scuba diving industry. We may have different training methods, but all share a passion for scuba diving. An important achievement of the EUF are the CEN/ISO norms and certification, which foresee in a minimum level of training standards. All EUF members have a CEN/ISO certification. www.euf.eu
