DDI PORTUGAL´S MAGICAL ANNIVERSARY
On the 30th of June DDI PORTUGAL celebrated it’s second anniversary, in Sesimbra and it was a day filled with magical moments, a day to remember.
The morning started with a great dive at the diving spot Pedra do Leão (Lion’s Rock). Four of the five DDI OWD Certificated Divers had the pleasure of diving together, enjoying a sports they love. This was possible thanks to the Haliotis Diving Centre, the first of eight of DDI level O Centre, for offering the four divers a free dive.

My deepest thanks to you all for your dedication, professionalism, enthusiasm, friendship and time of your lives you share with us, spreading happiness and showing Impossible is Nothing!!!
UDIVING - Albacora in Tavira, Algarve, Portugal,
UDIVING - Albacora is the newest DDI Dive Center and results from a partnership between UDIVING and the Hotel Vila Gale Albacora in Tavira, Algarve, Portugal.
This is the first dive center to start its activity as DDI Dive Center from its oppening. For this, Mateus Mendonça, Director of UDIVING, asked for his Staff to receive the proper DDI training, that was conducted by the representative of DDI in Portugal and DDI Instructor Trainer, Paulo Guerreiro. Thus, DDI has one more Instructor and three Assistant Divers.
DDI Portugal went to Tavira to be part of the inauguration of the UDIVING - Albacora Dive Center and also to run a No Barrier Tour.
Try dives for disabled people in the pool of Vila Gale Albacora and a workshop made part of the program.
This new DDI Dive Center has shown to have good overall quality, regarding to the space where it was build as to the capability of its employees. It is fully accessible, as well as the hotel where it belongs. It is certainly an interesting place, full of history, where you can spend some great vacations and make some beautiful dives.
Here you can find the real meaning of dive for all. DDI divers in Portugal already tried, enjoyed and approved it.
DDI Pro Course in Linköping, Sweden
The first weekend of June, six of the staff at Linköping Dykcenter completed a DDI Pro course held by Flemming Thyge (DDI Founder, Vice President and CEO).
The course attracted the attention of a regional radio station (P4 Östergötland) and on the stations blog, participant Göran summed up the weekend with this (translated) post:
“A useful and inspiring course
This weekend’s course was very inspiring and useful for us instructors. We were forced to think in a way we haven’t done before to solve certain tasks.
We’ve tried being blind and paraplegic with all what that involves in terms of equipment configuration, donning of wetsuits, lifting techniques, signs and so on.
A truly fun weekend!
Now the work begins with starting of this branch on a parallel path with our ordinary course schedules here at the dive center.
See you under water! / Göran”
